Dunedin i-Site

About This Project

Designing NZ’s South Island’s busiest visitor centre necessitated a robust user-centred design process. We led design workshops with visitor centre staff, customers, and key stakeholders – planning using models and testing with full-scale cardboard mockups on-site. The resultant interior fitout is not only extremely flexible, but captures Dunedin’s gloomy-yet-beautiful aesthetic and extraordinary natural landscape.
Not content with off-the-shelf plastic-based display systems and MDF desks, we designed modular display systems and desks from locally-grown PEFC plywood, with low-VOC finishes and direct-sublimation printing throughout.
