tBus

About This Project

Public transport uptake in the UK is still limited, except in those areas with unbearable congestion. Whilst the design of public transport traditionally focuses on efficiency, my initial user research, questionnaires, and focus groups showed that a complete lack of emotional satisfaction is a clear barrier to its uptake. Situated in the city of York and forming the basis of my MDes in Industrial Design, the tBus addresses these issues with an architecturally-relevant exterior and socially-focused interior, encouraging uptake through fostering civic pride and social interaction.
